Regent Seven Seas Grandeur

Burnished brass

The seventh vessel of Regent Seven Seas Cruises – the world’s most exclusive cruise company – Seven Seas Grandeur was launched in Ancona on November 14th and features numerous custom-made products from Gonzato Group’s Contract Division.

Inspired by the past and surprisingly reinvented for the future, this magnificent ship was designed by the award-winning Studio DADO and built by Fincantieri in just over two years. With a gross tonnage of 55,500 tons, a staff of 548 people, and a capacity of only 746 guests, Seven Seas Grandeur will offer one of the highest space/personnel-guest ratios in the industry, ensuring guests, from the moment they step on board, unparalleled service and the highest standards of hospitality.

Refined style, unbeatable elegance, and breathtaking beauty are the stylistic hallmarks that characterize this ship, capable of exceeding the most demanding expectations. 373 suites ranging from 400 to 40 square meters, an experiential SPA, 5 restaurants, lounges and bars, on-board boutiques, theaters, a well-equipped fitness center, and outdoor jogging paths are just some of the elements that will make cruises aboard this vessel unforgettable. The offer is completed by a permanent art collection of 1600 pieces, including a Fabergé egg, several works by Picasso, a bronze and fused glass Bonsai cherry sculpture, and a 40-foot tapestry handwoven by the renowned Brazilian artist Walter Goldfarb.

Every minute detail has been carefully evaluated and designed, both in terms of design and materials, and in terms of guest safety. It is no coincidence, therefore, that Gonzato Group was chosen to design and manufacture all the glass railings for the staircases, balustrades, people separators, and handrails in the aft and bow areas that connect the ship’s 14 accessible decks.

Inspired by the Liberty style that characterizes all common areas, these elements were engineered by Gonzato Group, according to the client’s design, and made entirely of brass. A material that requires a special and delicate process, especially for the rounded shapes of the various elements, which must take into account the ductility and malleability of this noble metal, capable, however, of offering, if treated with skill, unparalleled aesthetic results as in this case. To protect the products from the typical oxidation of brass, each individual element has undergone a detailed bronzing process that not only gives the metal resistance to atmospheric agents but also a sought-after and ancient-looking material effect.

This prestigious achievement once again confirms Gonzato Group’s ability to meet any design need, offering custom solutions that are not only aesthetically in line with the most advanced stylistic trends but also safe to use and functional in the spaces where they are installed.
