The Vicenza-based company will build the new gates of the world’s most famous amphitheatre.

Fifty-six gratings and 13 automated gates: Ind.i.a. (Industria Italiana Arteferro) Spa of Malo, Vicenza, a company of the Gonzato Group, leader in the production and distribution of wrought iron and stainless steel products and forgings, will make them for the Colosseum. The contract is for the supply and installation of the gates, made of forged iron and terminated with straight spears, one different from the other, which will replace the current perimeter closure system.

Gonzato Contract, the division of Ind.i.a. spa dedicated to special supplies, started yesterday the installation of the parapets of the Azerbaijan Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015. The contract, signed with Simmetrico Srl of Milan on Monday 23 February, provides for the production and installation of all the parapets of the pavilion, both internal and external. The parapets will be produced in steel, according to the client’s design, with curtain wall panels with tensioned rods and ropes and customised handrails.

Interior designer Andrea Castrignano selected Iam Design and Arteferro products for an episode of his television programme “cambio casa, cambio vita!”, relating to a restoration project of a luxurious penthouse with a view of Milan Cathedral.

The building, entirely designed in Energy Class A, has a large terrace area on each floor that wraps around it almost like a skin. The design idea of Studio Area 17 of Bolzano was to guarantee a low aesthetic impact, almost making the parapets disappear while safeguarding safety.

The harmonious combination of various metals such as iron, brass, aluminium and the particular colour nuances, from dark satin bronze to patinated bronze, from mirror-polished brass to gold leaf processing, make a single gate a true work of art.

The parapets and brass cladding of the new luxury centre “T Fondaco dei Tedeschi” were supplied by Gonzato Contract of Vicenza, which made them to the design of archistar Rem Koolhaas and architect Carlo Cappai of C+S Architects.
